Although I did not go anywhere for spring break my kids did go to Grandma's for the entire week. So I guess I have had a "break". Every night I returned from work to an empty house free to do whatever pleases me. No running to practices, dance or youth group. No making dinner that my picky eaters complain about. No checking homework, or wrangling kids into baths, or reading before bed. It is Friday now and the kids will return tomorrow. I am glad. I miss them but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the break.
What have I done with all my free time?
- Worked late. (Since I did not have to rush to pick them up at the sitter's and since I have to reach a million in sales I thought this would be a good time to catch up at work)
- Watched a movie that my kids wouldn't (Girl with the Pearl Earing, I read the book years ago and thought I would watch the movie- it was o.k.)
- Did not pull a single pan out of the cupboard! (I ate Martin's salad bar, Subway, or cereal everynight)
- Started this blog.
- Did some reading and writing trying to prepare for the two times this month I will be speaking to a group. (one at a county jail and one at Wawasee FCA)
- Went to a kick boxing class (I have not excercised liked that in a couple years! I though I was dying!)
- Slept on the couch right after work (this was the day after the kick boxing class - I could barely move my aching body)
Not very exciting. But for me, unusual and a break from the norm.
